I grew up near Ithaca, New York. I attended Binghamton University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. After college, I moved to Virginia and studied at William and Mary where I received my Master of Arts in Elementary Education in 1998. I returned to upstate New York and taught 2nd grade for seven years at South Seneca Elementary School. My experiences there were invaluable, but I've always had an affinity for the West; in particular tumbleweeds! So, in 2006, I packed up my car and drove across the country ending up in Longmont. I taught 5th and 6th grade for two and a half years at Rocky Mountain School for the Gifted and Creative in Boulder. Then, I taught 3rd grade at Monfort Elementary School in the Greeley-Evans School District from 2009-2011.
I have been teaching at Red Hawk since the school opened in 2011. I feel very fortunate to be at such a wonderful school. I love teaching and learning! I can't wait to share this passion with you and your child.
When I'm not teaching, I’m most often found spending time with my husband and our kids. We enjoy living in the country just outside of Erie with our two dogs, one cat, one rabbit, and seven chickens. (Let me know if you ever want some fresh eggs!) I also have an interest in reading, anything old, cooking, dining out, and bird watching. Your child just might come home telling stories about great horned owls or bald eagles!
