Originally, I’m from Northern Michigan. It was here, volunteering in my younger sister’s kindergarten classroom, that I realized my calling was to teach. So I headed West towards Boulder to attend CU and like many other transplants, I have made Colorado my home.
I graduated from the University of Colorado in 2010 with a degree in History and my Elementary Teaching License. Following graduation, I joined PIE (Partners In Education with SVVSD and CU) and student taught at Columbine Elementary. Afterwards, I joined the BUENO Center at CU and earned my Masters degree in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity in 2014. Through this experience, I was able to learn many strategies that will help me assist all students to make growth both academically and as a whole child.
I have been fortunate to call Red Hawk my home since it opened in 2011. I love coming to work and spending my days with children and seeing them transform over the school year. Recently, I have had the role of a student as I have been learning how to sew! When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband hiking, camping and climbing.
