- Community Schools
We continue to closely monitor wildfire activity around our community in partnership with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder Office of Emergency Management. Firefighters have done an outstanding job closing the spread of the Cal-Wood and Lefthand Canyon Fires, and we are incredibly appreciative of their hard work and dedication to protecting our communities. We must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity, particularly with high winds forecasted for this afternoon through Thursday morning. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has requested that we extend our closure of in-person learning at school in Lyons through the end of this week.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. I have been working at Red Hawk since 2014 and am extraordinarily excited to start off a new year at this amazing school. I attended the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with a Bachelor in Psychology while simultaneously receiving my teaching license in Elementary Education. I also attended CU Boulder as a graduate student and received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on literacy. Currently, I am back in school (lifetime learner!) to receive my administrative license in order to fulfill my dreams of becoming a principal one day. In the past, I have worked for programs such as the YMCA of Boulder Valley Fun in the Sun Day Camps as well as worked in the School After Care program for Boulder Valley School District. These programs helped solidify my passion for working with children and inspired me to pursue a career in elementary education. Outside of working with children, I enjoy hand lettering, lifting, hiking, and skiing. I hope to support my students to succeed academically, but also to encourage them to be the best people they can be.
