    The Red Hawk Elementary School back-to-school night on Aug. 29 had a special bloom about it — parents and community members were greeted at the school's entrance by a colorful, fresh bounty of tri-colored cherry tomatoes, corn on the cob, beets, cantaloupe, turnips, basil, carrots, heirloom tomatoes and more.

    Be an Attendance H.E.R.O. Did you know regular and timely attendance affects multiple measures of academic achievement including math and reading performance?   We are excited to partner with you and your student to be an Attendance H.E.R.O- Here Everyday Ready On-time! Red Hawk is kicking off our attendance challenge to encourage students to come to school on time and ready to learn. Each month we will be recognizing students that attend school on a regular basis or have worked hard to improve their attendance record. This year we are trying to meet our goal of a 96% attendance rate. If you have questions about your student’s attendance please contact Cindi Crowder in the front office at 303-774-2700. We hope every Red Hawk student is a H.E.R.O!!

    Trip Tracker encourages school communities to reduce motor vehicle traffic around schools. When participants carpool, take the bus, bike, or walk to school, they earn Tracker Bucks which can be spent at participating local businesses.

Student safety is a top priority across St. Vrain Valley Schools. This is the core of our work and we are committed to a consistently proactive approach to fulfilling our highest responsibility – ensuring the well-being, safety and growth of our children. We have implemented many programs and protocols to ensure the highest levels of school security, many of which are being replicated across the state and nationally. Along the way, we have heavily involved our community in shaping the safety and quality of our learning environments. In the past year alone, we have featured stories in district publications, developed news articles, earned media coverage, delivered school presentations and hosted 12 public meetings across every community in our district – all emphasizing our work to increase school safety and support student advancement. What does attendance mean to you? Every student and family will have their own meaning for great attendance. For schools in St. Vrain, the goal is simple - have your student attend everyday and miss less than 10 days of school per year for any reason. The value of consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in determining if a student will do well in school, graduate and be prepared for success in future grades, their careers and postsecondary education.
