100 Mile Club

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the  100 Mile Club at Red Hawk Elementary! This year-long program encourages our K-5 students to set an ambitious goal: running or walking 100 miles by the end of the school year.

Information:

Start Date: 9-16-204

End Date: 5-12-2024

Run days: Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:15-8:45

On bad weather days we will run inside the school on the second floor.

What’s in it for your child?

  • Fitness and Fun:Students will build healthy habits, boost their energy, and have fun while working toward a big goal!
  • Cool Prizes:As they hit certain milestones, your child will earn awesome rewards. These include a  100 Mile Club t-shirt to wear with pride and other fun surprises to keep them motivated throughout the year.
  • Team Spirit:This is a great way for students to support each other and experience the excitement of working together as a school community.

How to Register:

We hope your child will join us on this exciting journey! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Contact information is below.

Let’s make this a year to remember as we run, walk, and achieve together!

SVVSD Code of Conduct

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.

Again, thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Tim Garcia

Gifted and Talented

Gifted and Talented Referrals

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress.  In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.

The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Superintendent’s Update

Today I will be safe * Today I will be respectful * Today I will be responsible * I will make today a great day, because that’s the Red Hawk Way!

Hug-N-Go: I want to thank everyone who is following The Red Hawk Way in all we do on campus! Being safe, respectful, responsible and walking with integrity is who we are and what we do every day at Red Hawk! It is important that our students see all of US doing the same thing! With Hug-N-Go, please continue to meet our expectations in setting a great example for all of our kids! As a gentle reminder, Hug-N-Go will requires patience. If you are in a hurry, Hug-N-Go is not for you that particular day! Some other reminders are to remain in the single file line of cars from the time you drive on campus until you exit campus. Please do not pass, drive around, overtake or in any way get out of the single file line. I also want to thank all of you for keeping our communication in the spirit of the Red Hawk Way! We love our positive, fun, friendly and inviting climate and culture at Red Hawk.
