A MESSAGE FROM MR. GARCIA
Hello, Red Hawk family! I hope this message finds you all healthy, happy and well!
We have just completed another outstanding week at Red Hawk Elementary School and I could not be more proud of our students and staff alike! Our jog-athon is just around the corner and we are super excited! There are going to be daily incentives and challenges for our family as well as prizes and learning opportunities for our students along the way. This is a wonderful event sponsored by our outstanding PTO and I cannot thank them enough for all of the time, energy and effort that they put into serving and supporting our students and staff!
To close I just want to provide an important reminder for everyone to be following and paying attention to the information coming out of the classroom from our teachers and being aware of the calendar and events coming up. Parent teacher conferences are just around the corner in early October and before we know it is going to be winter break, with a lot of activities taking place in between! If you ever have any questions about what is happening at Red Hawk Elementary School, please don’t hesitate to call the office.
Enjoy this beautiful weekend and thank you for choosing to be Red Hawks!
With appreciation, Mr. Garcia

Gifted and Talented
Gifted and Talented Referrals
Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress. In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.
Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.
The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Today I will be safe * Today I will be respectful * Today I will be responsible * I will make today a great day, because that’s the Red Hawk Way
Hug-N-Go: I want to thank everyone who is following The Red Hawk Way in all we do on campus! Being safe, respectful, responsible and walking with integrity is who we are and what we do every day at Red Hawk! It is important that our students see all of US doing the same thing! With Hug-N-Go, please continue to meet our expectations in setting a great example for all of our kids! As a gentle reminder, Hug-N-Go will requires patience. If you are in a hurry, Hug-N-Go is not for you that particular day! Some other reminders are to remain in the single file line of cars from the time you drive on campus until you exit campus. Please do not pass, drive around, overtake or in any way get out of the single file line. I also want to thank all of you for keeping our communication in the spirit of the Red Hawk Way! We love our positive, fun, friendly and inviting climate and culture at Red Hawk.
