Preschool at Red Hawk Elementary
The Red Hawk Elementary Preschool is an integral part of the educational experience at Red Hawk Elementary School and St. Vrain Valley School District. The school offers a welcoming preschool environment designed to support young learners through developmentally appropriate instruction, purposeful play and consistent routines.
Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, Red Hawk Elementary will continue offering half-day preschool programs (AM and PM) and will add a full-day preschool option. Enrollment is now open.
Half-day preschool hours are Monday through Friday from 8:55–11:35 a.m. and 12:50–3:30 p.m. The new full-day preschool option provides families with a schedule aligned with a traditional school day while supporting children’s social, emotional and academic development.
The Enrollment Options:
Tuition-based preschool opportunities include either class options for all eligible students. All preschool classrooms are half-day mornings or afternoons. Parents and guardians must complete the tuition based application. Annual rates can be found on the preschool website.
Special Education within St. Vrain Valley Schools identifies children ages birth to 21 who may be eligible to receive special education services. Federal and state law requires eligible children to receive free preschool once the student has turned 3 years of age. Our Preschool Program works collaboratively with the Child Find staff (District Special Education Department) in the assessment, identification and programming for children with disabilities. If a child qualifies for special education services, the Child Find team partners with parents and guardians to determine the appropriate placement and services based on each students individual needs.
Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado program provides state-funded preschool for eligible four-year-olds. Children must be 4 years old on or before October 1 to qualify. All four-year-olds are eligible for 15 hours of free preschool each week, with additional hours available for children who meet qualifying factors such as family income, dual language learning, or an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Families must complete both the UPK Colorado application and the SVVSD preschool application to secure funding and placement.
